THE COMMUNITY

“Hub of the North”, Sioux Lookout boasts one of the busiest airports in Northern Ontario. Connecting over 30,000 people in 29 First Nations Communities with their state-of-the-art hospital and related health care, social and educational facilities.

A full-service community of 5,500 people located on the North East end of Lac Seul, one of the largest reservoirs in North America providing water to turn the turbines at the Ear Falls Hydro Dam downstream. It has a very robust and active Real Estate Market. From in-town Residential, and Commercial properties to year-round waterfront Homes and Seasonal Recreational properties on several of the nearby lakes.

The long list of outdoor activities you can do here makes Sioux Lookout a natural playground to explore. In the summer, travel their local network of more than seven lakes with a guided or unguided boat ride. Play golf or swim in the crystal-clear waters at one of four public beaches. Walk the Umfreville Trail or camp at Ojibway Provincial Park. In the winter, snowmobile 365 kilometres of freshly groomed snow along the best trails in Ontario, play hockey or curl.

Renowned for the annual Blueberry Festival which stretches over 10 days every August, celebrating the community and attracting thousands of visitors. Walleye Weekend takes place every year during the second weekend in June and is an annual catch-and-keep tournament on Minnitaki, Abram, Pelican and Botsford lakes that attracts fisherman from near and far.
